Reverse Engineering

Image
Come one come all welcome we are doing a reverse engineering project. This week in our 3D design course we will be going over the objects that we have chosen to be one of the objects that we fully recreate and dismantle in a rhinoceros 7. I decided to do a paper-made camera that I have for one of the more intricate objects a pair of scissors that I have which are quite old that are held together by the last 1 bolt. Finally, a compass which is would be one of the easier designs. I chose all of these objects like a difficulty scale for myself, wondering which one should be harder and which would be my favourite if I had the most time. Personally, I'm leaning toward either the compass or the camera I do quite I do think the camera is quite interesting and I love the way that it comes apart. I think that one's my favourite overall it's just the circuit board seems to be incredibly complex so I might to backup plans are a pressure if it's out of scissors so they would have...

Surface Style Multi-tiles

Image
Hey guys, Here is my final version of the surface research flash design project. I found this very interesting and methodical as well as super relaxing to just kind of veg out to music and just Fill in the colours once I had my basic design down just filling in was all soothing everything else before that was a little bit of pain but we caught there, in the end, it looks amazing and I'm delighted with the evolution of the final product. The biggest trouble I had with this part of the project was mostly just choosing colours, but I already had the colour scheme original design and then I wanted to see what it look like, with its brothers and or clones all huddled together. I think overall it looks really good and I'm quite proud.

FULLY AND COMPLETELY

Okay, this time for real and a lot less panicky. Here are my references for the surface study. I kind of went all over I went I already like I said in my last post I went around Calgary, went around my house, went to friend's houses, as well as the school. I was trying to find the most diverse surfaces both color-wise and texture-wise. Again I would like to say that the most difficult part was getting that hatching to work for me In addition to hatching there was also the tedious task of the layers but I was able to get over that quickly as it's something I'm familiar with from Photoshop, just colour coding them was new. At first I had the original 3-prong design and I had felt that that was a little lackluster so I decided to go for more of a snowflake design as it felt more complete and more like a full composition. My favourite part of this project was most definitely getting to go around and take reference photos to try and figure out how I was going to piece together t...

Surface Study

Image
Hello, all I am here with my Surface study. I had gone around downtown Calgary, around my house some were taken at my friend's house is going to try to get as many references as I could different colours different shapes different patterns different textures. I found this project very interesting but very challenging. I had many problems with getting my colours to wear getting my layers to go around it took me almost 2 hours just to finally get the colours on my screen and I'm going to post an updated version shortly. I just want to get a version in for now I'm going to finish the colouring and then will post more shortly. The biggest issue was figuring out the hatch function.

My Even Cooler Shapes that I made

Image
Hello, all these are my make these shapes which I have made . . . . . those shapes. I know quite a weird intro but I digress. I actually had a fun time making these shapes it was really quite interesting to see the fullness of the project like how each shape would bring me to the next Evolution and would even help me makes the next set of shapes this was very very interesting to me. I didn't have too much difficulty, to begin with, but as it kept going like with the array function as well as with the offset I did have a lot of issues. The array curve was actually really easy to solve I just hadn't realized that I was putting way too many objects on the curve so that's why I wasn't getting the same shape, but for the offset, I feel as though I was clicking the wrong spots and it was kind of going wrong. Eventually, I figured out the right position of my points may like my test points there it was turning into a like rounded off blob instead of like soft spikes but I fina...

My Cool New Castle

Image
Hello everyone who reads my blog:) this is my castle!! I originally went for like a traditional Castle at first trying to make a courtyard to start and that somehow evolved into this Greek-like temple theme that I thought would be more interesting and a little bit more complex. It was the classic stone columns and the open space that made me really run with this idea. I had a few struggles with it in the beginning but I am really quite happy with the outcome. It was quite challenging at the beginning but once I started getting the hang of how the software works and how to move things around/how to glue things together in the right place. Once I had my fun it started to make more sense to me I did kind of have issues with copy and paste initially, specifically what order to click the objects but then I started playing around with the program a bit more and it finally came together. I figured out how Osnap works and learned that it is my best friend instead of my worst enemy. -Capa...
